Commentary: I have been waiting for this album for 4 or 5 months now, after being teased by an EP that came out last year. Caitlyn Smith is a Nashville songwriter, apparently to the tune of hundreds of songs for other performs. This is her first break-out solo album, and it is almost perfect. Actually the EP was perfect, but the full-length album has a few weaker songs on it. Nevertheless, “Starfire” is basically a perfect pop country album, and the lead single is the best mainstream country single I’ve heard since in, I don’t know, a decade or more.
